Prime Home Healthcare Inc. provides home care assistants who are trained and certified to provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and skin care. They can also assist with light housekeeping (patient area) and limited meal preparation. This service is only available in conjunction with nursing or therapy services.  We are in the business of assisting people with disabilities, chronic disorders, and injuries to live as independently as possible in their home and in their communities.

Our agency is dedicated to providing its services with the highest ethical standard, and being sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of our clients. We offer services in English, Somali, Swahili, and other languages, upon request.

Personal Care Assistance

What are personal care assistants (PCAs)?

• PCAs are individuals that are hired and trained to help client’s with their activities of daily living, including but not limited to, transferring and re-positioning in bed, eating, toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, etc.

• Under the direction of a qualified professional, a personal care assistant (PCA) follows a specific plan of care as determined by a public health nurse.

• PCAs will observe, redirect, and document changes in the health and behavior of a client.

Who can be a personal care assistant?

An individual that has been hired and trained by a qualified home care provider.

A PCA can be a family member or friend of the client receiving services, but they must complete the necessary background screenings and undergo the hiring process of a qualified home care provider.
